So thanks to the encouragement I got through promotional credit on both Google AdWords and Facebook Ads, I decided to test my abilities as an ebook advertiser and last night set up accounts with both. It will be a one week, $100 experiment in internet marketing with two of the big shots, and I have no idea what to expect.
Set up for both was easy, though I have no idea how my “pitch” will fair. Writing an ad in less than 50 words is hard! Adwords was merciless in terms of the number of characters I could have, while Facebook was slightly more forgiving (and I got to put a picture on that one…neat, right?).
Here is some beef I’ve already go with Facebook: I don’t see a way I can edit the text of my ad, while it appears I can edit the text of the ad and keywords based on what is working with AdWords. But then again, it seems like my ads are getting more face-time on Facebook than on AdWords.
After 12 hours, I can report that according to Facebook, my ad has already run over 50,000 times and resulted in 33 clicks on my ad. I am excited to think my ad is out there that much, and also the 33 clicks is more than I expected, but that also means that my ad is only be clicked on .066% of the time. Too bad I can’t edit the text! Gah!
But that was only after 12 hours, so that evidence isn’t conclusive yet. I will keep you all posted on my experience with both these ad mavens as the week goes forward. If anyone has helpful hints about using these programs or stories to share, please do so - maybe if we all work together we can crack the secret of these things!

nice post..very interesting… just continue it…lol …..
Best of luck on the ads. Its fun to see the ad doing nothing then all of sudden reports show traffic. And of course the reason for the ad – I wish you luck with the ebook sales
