About The Life Uncommon

Since its inception, The Life Uncommon has been a supportive and inspirational meeting place for individuals around the world who are interested in living with passion and working with purpose.

The Life Uncommon was originally created in 2008 as a way for Nacie Carson to chronicle her transition from corporate employee to authentic freelancer.  Yet the overwhelming impassioned and enthusiastic support the site received right from the start led Nacie to realize the spirit of The Life Uncommon was about more than one woman’s journey, it was about a shared global pursuit for meaning, success, fulfillment, and authenticity.

As the blog gained popularity, the discussion on the site shifted away from Nacie’s personal story to the broader topics of career evolution, professional development, authentic living, pursuit of passion, and the relationship between an individual’s vocation and their sense of personal truth.

Today, The Life Uncommon is a vibrant, diverse, and motivational international meeting place that explores the art of professional and personal development through personally meaningful work.
