to add ads, or not?

by Nacie Carson on June 20, 2008

I was drawn in.  I was tempted.  I saw the promise of making millions of dollars shine brightly before in pay-per-click ad revenue.   And then I saw the inalienable, unchangeable, and overwhelming truth: there is no way I can put ads on this page.  It is a page of my soul, your soul, all of our souls – and I can’t put adsense ads on this page.  Believe me, I tried.  I even had the code pasted into the site.  Then I looked at the preview and my heart sunk.  My journey, my life uncommon, looked more corporately owned and operated than I feel now working corporate.  How wrong is that?

So, my friends, to sleep at night with my blogging soul free from burden, I would like to announce that The Life Uncommon will remain free from context ads.

But just to let you know, I compensated my need for compensation by throwing a little “donate” button up top.  Every cent is appreciated, and every dime treasured.  Thanks for keeping me posting, dreaming, and searching for the life uncommon.
