Hello Fellow Uncommoners and friends,
As many of you may have seen, some foolish hacker attempted to destroy this site for reasons that no one can fathom (probably not even him!). Thanks so much to KCB for alerting me to the problem so we could make a swift recovery here. Sadly, we needed to roll back to a backed up version of the site made on the 27th, and lost a weeks worth of posting.
But it could have been worse! Besides, I learned a lot about how to best protect this site and keep it from being a vulnerable target to fools who should probably get a job instead of waste time messing up other people’s work. For a full analysis of how I feel, and the safety tips I learned in this process (which might save your site someday!) please see my full rant/article on Freelance Writing Jobs, many thanks to Jodee and all over there for their support.
So during this whole “will my website be saved, will I have to start from scratch” chaos of the past 15 hours, I realized that there are a few face-lift updates I have been wanted to make for this site for a while. So world, be prepared – you are about to see an improved and updated Life Uncommon before you know it!
Also: 14 DAYS until the ebook is out!!

That sucks. Why would your site be targeted?
(PS: your link is teh brokes)
Sorry this happened to you. I wouldn’t want to get into the mind of a hacker. Scary.
Ugh! Why in the world would someone simply come around to be nasty like that? I’m so sorry you were hacked. I worry a little about that myself. None of us really worry about security, do we?
this is so bad… still I am surprised that they have targeted such a nice site. best of luck for future.
