As many of you know (and can’t ignore, thanks to the big signs I have all over the website!), my first ebook is now on sale. It has left the nest, and is now making its own way in the world. Now that my days aren’t full of ignoring everything and everyone to get it finished, I am now finding I have a bit of free time on my hands. After taking a few days off to bask in the joy of having completed my first post-”real world” project, I am now ready to look ahead and get a game plan down for the next endeavor.
The only question is, what will that endeavor be?
Here is one answer: one new project is the marketing and promotion of The Life Uncommon: The Ebook. In the past, my internet promotion was limited primarily to things like “visit my blog!” and “check out my articles!” But for the book, I want to learn the ways of successful internet marketing because I want the book to be as successful as it can be – I really believe in the message and philosophy, and want to give it a great chance out there in the world. If anyone has good ideas, leads or suggestions, I am all ears!
Also, the whole process of writing an ebook was a wonderful one, and I can see myself writing more over time. Uncommon is in a way an experiment in what works and doesn’t work for internet marketing. I want to learn these lessons now and get a good system going. I don’t know much about it yet, but I do know that I want to make sure it is done with class – I don’t want to turn into a spammy and obnoxious advertiser!
But then the question remains: what is the next project? Do I want to work on another ebook or switch gears toward working on my fiction pieces (I am feeling an inkling to get back to writing Wickham again, my Y.A.F. adventure), or do I crawl job boards again looking for more client directed work? Or start in some other totally different direction?
So the jury is still out – I am trying to give myself a few days of thought to feel out the best direction. I have had the urge to take long walks, around my town, on the beach, and in the woods the past few days, so I am assuming it is my subconscious trying to work it out. just waiting for the next great idea…
