Then you should be at one of the 40 Kids Heart Authors events happening near you! On February 14, 2009, Kids Heart Authors Day is bringing 170 authors and illustrators of beloved children’s books to independent bookstores all across New England.
From 10am to 12pm, authors and illustrators will be signing books and answering questions about writing, illustrating, and the publishing business. Notable participants include Mitali Perkins, author of Secret Keeper and Rickshaw Girl, Kate Duke, author of Archaeologists Dig for Clues, and Jamie Harper, author of Blast Off Baby Bundt: A Recipe for Fun Time.
This promises to be a fabulous event and a wonderful opportunity for children and adults a like. Even if you don’t have a kid to bring, come anyway and chat with some of the movers and shakers of the Children and Young Adult publishing industry – I know some of you Uncommoners are aspiring authors! – pick these successful author’s brains and maybe walk away with a tip on how to break into the biz…
